MitaCell uses a patented technology that optimizes the use of something called Micelles which are self-assembled structures that form when certain types of molecules, known as surfactants, are mixed with water. Surfactants are molecules that have both hydrophobic (water-repelling) and hydrophil (water-attracting) regions. When surfactant molecules are added to water, they tend to aggregate together in a way that minimizes their exposure to water.

In the case of micelles, the hydrophobic regions of the surfactant molecules come together to form a, while the hydrophilic remain on the outside, interacting with the water molecules. This results in a spherical structure with a hydrophobic core and a hydrophilic shell.
